Crane Crest condominium in Lauderdale by the Sea is one of the few remaining oceanfront co-ops left in Broward county. The prices range from $200k – $400k depending on views and if its one or two bedrooms. I have listed and sold units in the building over the years and its impressive ocean views are the same as the million dollar plus condos next door. The disadvantage of this being a co-op is most banks will not put a loan on a co-op, since its not secured by actual property just a share of stock in the co-op. This means that mostly international buyers that were paying all cash anyways end up buying into co-ops. The building also on a land lease, so be careful you know the limitations and pitfalls of co-ops and land leased property before you decide to purchase.
